Active Investor Plus

Active Investor Plus offers two routes to residence through investment: the Growth category (minimum NZD $5 million over 3 years) and the Balanced category (minimum NZD $10 million over 5 years). We can advise on the right category for your circumstances and manage the application process, working in partnership with financial advisors where required.

Investment scope

Permitted investments under Active Investor Plus include bonds, listed equities, property assets, philanthropic investments, and direct investments in New Zealand businesses. Different investment types are weighted differently depending on the category, and we can advise on which investments will meet the requirements for your application.

Time in New Zealand

Each category has a minimum number of days you must spend in New Zealand across the full investment period — 21 days under Growth and 105 days under Balanced. The day requirement can be reduced if you exceed specific investment thresholds, and we can help you plan to meet the requirement.
